Marco Polo International School (MPIS) fuses on the Amercan Focused curriculum and aims to send students to the world well-known universities in English-speaking countries including US, Britain, Australia and Canada. MPIS is registered both in China and US and now is the accredited school by the Middle States Association (MSA).
Since its inception, MPIS has received tremendous assistance from a Blue Ribbon school - Rutgers Preparatory School in New Jersey - in areas such as a portion of the RPS curriculum, a consulting service, recommendations for extra-curricular activities, general community service and accreditation. The school covers grades 6 to 12 now, which are all taught by highly qualified international teachers in small groups. The curriculum of MPIS includes language, sciences, mathematics, social studies, literature, humanities and the arts, physical education and so on. The school also provides diverse Advanced Placement courses (AP) such as AP calculus, AP physics C, AP economics, AP art and so on. Meanwhile, MPIS also offers the Cambridge curriculum starting from lower secondary checkpoint, IGCSE to A-Level. After completing the international courses in MPIS, students will be ready to apply worldwide to well-known universities. All of the graduates so far from MPIS have received offers from US top 60 and British top 30 universities. Some of the universities have provided full scholarships to the MPIS graduates.

Dr. Larner was born in New York City and grew up in Westfield, New Jersey, not far from Rutgers Preparatory School. After graduating from Westfield High School, he attended Bucknell University in Pennsylvania earning his B. A. and M. A. in English there. He next attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, earning his Doctor of Arts in English. He has been a full-time teacher and/or principal in international schools in
